AAF Cleveland Corporate Member Spotlight Michelle Loufman, marketing director, KP Photo
Tell us a little bit about your company and your role there.
I took over the role of marketing and new business development in 2014 for Kalman & Pabst Photo Group (KP Photo), a commercial photography studio. Our 30-year-old business creates high-impact, award-winning food, product and lifestyle photography, as well as digital compositing and CGI for clients like Smucker’s, Vitamix, Moen, Progressive and more. KP Photo is a unique business in that truly operates by its mission of creating memorable experiences and treating its employees as invaluable assets.
My day-to-day work involves everything from client prospecting to content marketing, so I wear quite a few hats. I love my job because no day is ever the same, but it never seems that there are enough hours in the day to tackle my long list of ideas!
What is your company most excited about in terms of marketing/video production/communications/advertising in 2017?
We’re starting the process for a brand refresh, which includes a new logo, identity and website. It’s a big undertaking, especially while balancing the day-to-day business needs that are equally as time demanding. KP Photo already has a visually impactful “product”. My goal is to translate the same feel with our brand elements and get more instant recognition and connection to our work.
How long have you been a Corporate Member at AAF?
KP Photo has been a corporate member since 2014.
What has been the most valuable takeaway of your AAF Corporate Membership?
It’s difficult to pick just one takeaway, but I believe that KP Photo has been best served in two main areas: First, AAF provides a channel for continual awareness for KP Photo in the advertising community. Our work complements smart strategy and creative. Second, I get invaluable business advice from members who struggle with similar marketing challenges. I’m a one-person marketing department so it’s important for me to get a pulse of what’s happening outside the studio.
Why did you decide to become a Corporate Member of AAF?
I have a background in advertising so the industry still has a special place in my heart. I want the community (and therefore AAF-Cleveland) to thrive. The other benefits – awareness, networking and AAF perks and savings are icing on the cake.
