AAF-Cleveland exists to shine a light a light on the individuals and organizations that make up the region’s advertising community. And we know that the brilliant, strategic work coming out of Cleveland is just the tip of the iceberg. Our 5 to 9 posts will feature work from members of the Cleveland advertising community that has been created outside of office hours. The personal pursuits. The pet projects. The labors of love.
Name: Dave Grager
Day Job: Global Brand & Advertising Manager at Parker Hannifin
How are you involved with AAF-Cleveland?
I have been a member of AAF since 2010 and was honored to serve on the Board of Directors through 2014.
What do you create after your 9 to 5 job?
In 2012, after raising a few children, I began painting again after several years of what I call a long pause. My current work is in the manner of abstract expressionism, although I take my inspiration from earlier figurative expressionist painters such as Egon Schiele and Paul Gauguin.
How did you discover your “5 to 9” passion?
My academic career was spent studying art, design and painting. Painting has always been a passion of mine and I’m happy to be producing more now than anytime in the past.
How can we learn more about your work?
You can see more of my work at www.gragerart.com. And, I have just recently become a member of Group Ten Gallery in Kent, Ohio and will be showing my work there throughout 2017.
