Honorees Announced for the 68th Annual Advertising Hall of Fame

Elected by the Advertising Hall of Fame’s distinguished Executive Committee and Council of Judges, the American Advertising Federation announced this year’s “magnificent seven”, the Class of 2017, to be inducted into the Advertising Hall of Fame.

The Advertising Hall of Fame recognizes the most accomplished and legendary figures in advertising, bringing together the industry to celebrate the Biggest Night in Advertising™.

AAF Stands Up To FCC

The American Advertising Federation and other ad industry groups are denouncing the Federal Communications Commission’s proposed privacy rules for Broadband Internet Access Services “BIAS.”  Chairman, Tom Wheeler has released a fact sheet stating that the Commission is considering a proposed rule that would require opt-in consent to use and share “sensitive data,” a term that the Commission would expand to include web browsing and application use history when linked to a device alone.  

Advertising Creates Sales & Jobs in Ohio

Advertising is a powerful engine that helps drive the economy of Ohio. Advertising expenditures account for $200.6 billion of economic output or sales in Ohio – that is 15.7% of the $1.3 trillion in total economic output in the State. Sales of products and services that are driven by advertising help support 667,504 jobs, representing 12.4% of the 5.4 million jobs in Ohio.

Local Shops Win National ADDY Awards

Two local creative services organizations have won a national ADDY award.  Congratulations to FACTION Pictures for their “Universal Field” video done for FACTION Pictures and to Doner for their “Take A Second Look” Campaign done for Bellefaire JCB.  Both will learn of gold or silver at the national ADDY award show at the AAF National Conference in June.  

AAF-Cleveland Publishes New Membership Guide

AAF_Cl_Memb_Guide_2015-16_v4-page-001AAF-Cleveland has published a new membership guide to help those members, new and old, navigate the club.  It’s an opportunity for members to further engage with the club.  Executive Director Dan Leibundgut said “this is a great tool provided by national to help those interested in joining or who have already joined to get a feel for our club.” The publication has been modified to reflect our local club.  

AAF and Shocase Announce Social Media Partnership
