Marcus Thomas, an integrated marketing communications agency, is looking for an exceptionally talented Public Relations Senior Account Executive to make a mark with our agency and clients. This professional will work with financial services as well as home and garden clients.

The essential functions of the Public Relations Senior Account Executive will include, but not be limited to, leading day-to-day public relations and social media executions for two agency clients while working closely with a diverse team of subject matter experts. This person will play a critical role of being both a leader and a doer. Success in this role will require mastery of all the skills and talents required to be a successful, well-rounded PR pro – critical thinking, superior and diverse writing skills, fanatical passion for and experience in social media and influencer marketing, knowledge of and appreciation for the public relations discipline, strong interpersonal communications skills, plus an ability to organize and manage details.


Education: Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, marketing, journalism, English or other related field.

Experience: Minimum five to six years of experience in marketing and/or public relations, with a proven track record of success in traditional, digital and word-of-mouth campaigns.


Excellent writing skills, with an ability to communicate clearly and accurately for a variety audiences.
Demonstrated experience and success in traditional media relations.
Experience in implementing social marketing initiatives for brands.
Strong strategic thinking – must be able to see the bigger picture and how public relations, social media and other communications strategies fit into business and marketing priorities.
Excellent communications skills that display you are an engaging and persuasive communicator.
A strong aptitude and curiosity for new and emerging digital trends; plus, a desire to experiment with these trends, new ideas and technologies.
Must be creative, analytical and able to switch between both sides of the brain at a moment’s notice.
Knack for creating great working relationships and collaborate with all levels, disciplines and teams within the integrated agency environment.
Solid project management and organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
A background in the consumer products or consumer services category (preferably a high-profile brand) is a plus.
Comfortable dealing with fluctuating priorities.
Confidence, integrity and professionalism that is necessary to represent the agency and its clients.

Manage client relationships daily as part of a larger client service team, including leading client status meetings, formal reporting, ongoing communications and written documentation.
Maintain effective, timely and valuable client contact. Respond to questions/issues quickly, honestly and completely.
Orchestrate agency teams and resources, facilitating collaboration to deliver on client needs and strategic priorities.
Serve as a public relations and social media subject matter expert, viewing client’s strategic priorities through the lens of if/how public relations and social marketing can drive client business objectives.
Assist with the management of client budgets.
Complete a variety of short- and long-form writing assignments.
Manage editorial relationships and pitch stories.
Conduct social listening and editorial monitoring, analyzing results and preparing reports for the team and clients.
Monitor digital and other communications trends that impact our clients and their audiences, while appropriately applying that knowledge and proactively bringing ideas to the agency team.
Reside within the public relations community of practice, while working effectively and collaboratively with all agency disciplines, including account service, strategic services, creative and media to facilitate production of planned initiatives.
Be a steward of the agency’s social media policy, which includes presenting an image consistent with the agency’s core values, while adhering to all FTC regulations.
Maintain knowledge of latest legal/ethical considerations and best practices in relation to the implementation of social media, and share appropriately with agency and client teams.
