Marcus Thomas, a marketing communications agency with the deepest digital team of any agency in its weight class is seeking a media trader. In this role you would be part of something special – a team of trail blazers who. The essential function of a media trader is to launch and optimize online marketing campaigns to get the best ROI for the agency and its clients – all in real time.

We need someone with the brain of a mathematician, with the tenacity of a stock trader. Maybe you’re a recent grad with a degree in math or finance who always thought about advertising? Or you’re an analytics geek who would love some on-the-job excitement. You don’t even have to live in Cleveland. But no matter where you are, here’s exactly what you’ll do:


Set up, execute and continually optimize digital media campaigns by managing the day-to-day programmatic buys across multiple channels.
Develop basic yield optimization strategies by monitoring campaigns to ensure performance goals, revenue objectives and targets are met.
Identify and act on opportunities to maximize ROI for our clients in real time – provide proactive recommendations and program/optimization-based insights.
Work closely with account management teams to provide insights and recommendations that meet and exceed our clients’ business objectives. Further, help them understand and convey the technical aspects of campaign delivery, performance and monitoring.
Consult with internal teams regarding advertising inventory, availability forecasting, campaign performance and sell-through reporting.
Comply with risk mitigation standards/practices
Work with the analytics team to prepare audience and reporting documents.
Build relationships with data, inventory and platform vendors.
Maintain knowledge of media buying platform updates and stay up-to-date on all industry trends and new technology.

Extremely strong analytical skills – able navigate and deliver actionable recommendations based on performance data.
Bachelor’s degree in the sciences – preferably in mathematics, finance or economics.
One year of professional experience – preferably in digital media or in a financial analysis role, or even as a stock trader.
A proactive, self-starter – someone who can be counted on to deliver results.
An aptitude and curiosity for new and emerging digital trends; plus a desire to experiment with these trends, new ideas and technologies.
Ability to build working relationships with a variety of disciplines and teams within the agency environment.
Solid organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple campaigns simultaneously while meeting client and agency performance objectives.
Comfort dealing with chaos and uncertainty.
Confidence, integrity and professionalism that are necessary to represent the agency and its clients.
Platform experience with various DSPs, DMPs, and analytics platforms is a plus; including Trade Desk, Dataxu, Adobe, VideoAmp, DoubleClick (DCM), Lotame and Google Analytics.
