GOJO, a Purpose-driven Family Enterprise known for innovations like PURELL® Hand Sanitizer, PURELL® Surface Disinfectant and many others, has a unique opportunity to join our in-house agency team in the role of Creative Director. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the creative direction for a brand that brings well-being to millions of people every day.

In this newly-created role, you will set direction for creative, ensuring it reflects brand and message strategies; lead internal creative teams; evolve the creative process; align outside suppliers; and be responsible for the overall quality of work produced by all creative stakeholders. We are looking for an inspiring leader with exceptional design skills and strong experience in building and evolving capabilities within a creative team.

Leads Campaign Conceptual Development

Develops fresh, compelling “big idea” creative concepts for new campaigns or integrated marketing communications that extend to multiple media; drives consistent execution through creative teams; ensures creative aligns with creative briefs and business objectives.



Sets Creative Direction Through Brand and Quality Standards

Brings brand strategy to life by setting standards for creative execution (design, tone of voice, etc.) in alignment with brand foundational principles and message strategies.
Sets standards for visual design and copy; guides tactical execution for consistency across touch points (collateral, digital marketing, online, print, etc.).

Ensures standards are fresh and modern; develops new standards appropriately as brand strategies, creative tactics and/or design trends evolve.



Ensures Creative Execution Aligns with Standards

Ensures that all work developed and/or executed through Marketing Services or outside creative partners meets or exceeds brand and quality standards, achieves this through directing job assignments to the right level of talent, coaching, challenging teams and building competencies.

Provides overarching creative direction to writers, designers and producers developing creative content; sets expectations and inspires creative teams to deliver work that meets or exceeds expectations and is reflective of the strategic key messages identified in creative briefs and overarching creative concepts; works cross functionally to ensure all work is consistent and on strategy.

Works closely with outside agencies, freelance talent and specialist partners developing content on behalf of GOJO to align them with brand standards; sets expectations and ensures that their creative product seamlessly aligns with standards and work created internally; evaluates creative against briefs and standards



Develops Creative Team Capabilities and Competencies

Organizes team in the most effective way to meet evolving demands of our business
Provides coaching and direction to the creative team; works with team members on individual development plans and challenging goals that allow them to thrive professionally
Inspires design team to maintain an awareness of emerging and evolving design and color trends and apply appropriately to their work.

Maintains an awareness of new and emerging marketing communications tactics and associated technical requirements; builds technical competencies within team to optimize.



Evolves and Manages the Creative Process
Collaborates cross-functionally and within the in-house agency team to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of the creative process.

Holds team members accountable for adherence to established processes and to using the tools created to support the process (e.g. Workfront, Proof HQ, OpenText).
Inspires team and process stakeholders to reflect on process and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.



Education and Experience Required

Bachelor’s degree in creative field combined with 10-12 years recent experience managing a creative organization within a corporate or agency environment. Master’s degree a plus. Agency experience preferred.
