American Advertising Federation-Cleveland (AAF-Cleveland) Education Foundation raises funds for merit and need-based academic scholarships given to Ohio college students majoring in advertising, marketing and communications.

For the first time, we’ve extended our program to include high school students in the Cleveland Municipal School District. This is a great opportunity for students who plan to pursue careers in Advertising, Marketing, Communication, Photography and Graphic Design!

Our Education Foundation awards more scholarships with a higher total dollar amount ($20,500 in 2004/2005 and $100,000 over the past five years) than any other Advertising Club in the United States.

Dear Cleveland City High School Guidance Counselor:

The American Advertising Federation-Cleveland (AAF-Cleveland) Education Foundation is pleased to announce we are accepting applications for our 15th annual scholarship program. For the very first time, we've extended our program to include high school students in the Cleveland Municipal School District. This is a great opportunity for students who plan to pursue careers in Advertising, Marketing, Communication, Photography and Graphic Design!

Application Details

To be eligible, a student must:

  • Be enrolled in a Cleveland Municipal School District high school;
  • Be planning to enroll in a communication/marketing-related major at an accredited college or university, with the goal of pursuing a degree in a creative major;
  • Carry a full course-load and hold a current minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher (4.0 scale);
  • Currently be in his/her senior year (graduating Spring 2006).

Applications are due on Friday, January 20, 2006. All completed application forms must include:

  • Up-to-date transcripts;
  • Two letters of recommendation from teachers or other professionals;
  • A typed, one-page, double-spaced essay describing career goals.

Finalists will be notified in February and will be required to bring creative samples and/or a portfolio to a personal interview with the AAF-Cleveland Scholarship Committee. Winners will be honored in person at the AAF-Cleveland's "Get Creative" scholarship benefit at Severance Hall, on the evening of March 27, 2006.
