College Scholarship Opportunities for HS Marketing/Communication students

Dear Cleveland City High School Guidance Counselor:
The American Advertising Federation-Cleveland (AAF-Cleveland) Education Foundation is pleased to announce
we are accepting applications for our 15th annual scholarship program. For the very first
time, we've extended our program to include high school students in the Cleveland Municipal
School District. This is a great opportunity for students who plan to pursue careers in
Advertising, Marketing, Communication, Photography and Graphic Design!
Your support is vital! Please encourage qualified
students to apply by completing the enclosed applications. Students

Application Details
To be eligible, a student must:
- Be enrolled in a Cleveland Municipal School District high school;
- Be planning to enroll in a communication/marketing-related major at an accredited
college or university, with the goal of pursuing a degree in a creative major;
- Carry a full course-load and hold a current minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher (4.0 scale);
- Currently be in his/her senior year (graduating Spring 2006).
Applications are due on Friday, January 20, 2006.
All completed application forms must include:
- Up-to-date transcripts;
- Two letters of recommendation from teachers or other professionals;
- A typed, one-page, double-spaced essay describing career goals.
Finalists will be notified in February and will be required to
bring creative samples and/or a portfolio to a personal interview
with the AAF-Cleveland Scholarship Committee. Winners will be honored in person
at the AAF-Cleveland's "Get Creative" scholarship benefit at Severance Hall,
on the evening of March 27, 2006.
