AAF Stands Up To FCC

The American Advertising Federation and other ad industry groups are denouncing the Federal Communications Commission’s proposed privacy rules for Broadband Internet Access Services “BIAS.”  Chairman, Tom Wheeler has released a fact sheet stating that the Commission is considering a proposed rule that would require opt-in consent to use and share “sensitive data,” a term that the Commission would expand to include web browsing and application use history when linked to a device alone.  The ad industry groups have sent the following letter to the chairman.  Please take a look at this letter to familiarize yourself with the FCC proposals and the ad industry’s response.  For more information contact Clark Rector, Executive Vice President, Government Affairs, at crector@aaf.org.
